About Me

Rebecca: Hi, my name is Rebecca. I guess you could call me an accidental homesteader, this wasn't the life I planned, but here I am. My husband Kevin and I purchased our 3 1/2 acre homestead in East Tennessee a year ago out of a desire to be self-sufficient in these uncertain times. We were house flippers for over 30 years, moving every three years to find new investments, then last year we decided to put down roots. We have always been avid gardeners, but having livestock was completely new to us. I have to say I have learned a lot about the care of animals in the past year, and have done things I thought I could ever do. It's not a glamorous life, it can be downright dirty, but I wouldn't change a thing. Building up this tiny homestead has been a rewarding life-changing experience, and I am so looking forward to seeing our homestead grow and be more productive.
